Château Les Charmes-Godard 2015 (White)
The vineyard, acquired by Nicolas Thienpont in 1988, produces a dry wine made like a great Bordeaux white, which has helped to boost the appellation’s revival. The predominance of the Sémillon grape and the winemaking techniques used (fermentation in 500L barrels, maturation on the lees for six months) give the wine intensity and liveliness.
MINERAL v FRUITY
A different kind of white, the Château Les Charmes-Godard 2015 is more mineral-driven than fruity. In your bottle is 60% Sémillon, 25% Sauvignon gris, 15% Sauvignon blanc producing green, grassy flavours mixed with aromas of orange marmalade and beeswax. Clean and taut with great focus from start to finish, this would be fantastic with a seafood tower or seared scallops in brown butter.
